Latham & Watkins has advised DPE Deutsche Private Equity (DPE), a leading growth investor in the DACH region, in connection with the DPE Continuation Fund I (DPE CF I) with a fund size of c. €708 million. DPE CF I offers existing investors in DPE Fund III a choice of full liquidity or partial or full reinvestment in DPE CF I.

DPE CF I was formed to invest into DPE portfolio companies Eraneos Group and valantic Group – two of the DACH region’s leading technology and digital transformation consultancies. The transaction represents the largest German GP-led secondary in history.

DPE CF I has been capitalized by a consortium of leading global secondary investors alongside several further new and existing investors. Management teams of both firms stay significantly invested.

Latham & Watkins regularly advises DPE on transactions, including on the initial investment of DPE III in valantic group.

The Latham team was co-led from Munich by partner Burc Hesse and associate Stephan Hufnagel, with partner Sebastian Pauls and associates Dr. Philipp Gärtner, Chris Freitag, Lena Hummel, and Maximilian Kuchernig. Advice was also provided on finance matters by partner Thomas Weitkamp and counsel Ludwig Zesch; and on tax matters by partner Stefan Süß.
