The Law, Humanities and Social Sciences Collective at MNLU Mumbai is hosting a three-day virtual symposium from May 12 to 14 to probe the relevance of humanities and social sciences in law schools.
About LHSS Collective
Available research on the intersection of law with humanities and social sciences remains focused on and originates from the Global North. Perspectives from the Global South remain marginal to such discussions.
Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai’s Law, Humanities and Social Sciences Collective seeks to redress this imbalance by providing platforms for expression and exchange of ideas and insights that craft and critique interdisciplinarity from a Global South perspective.
About the Symposium
LHSS Collective is inviting abstracts that explore the intersection of law and humanities and social sciences. This symposium would also feature some of the most prominent voices in the field over the three days. Please also refer to the concept note and poster attached at the end of the post for further details.
Eligibility
They are open to abstracts that might develop into either reflective or research papers. While this call is open to all academicians, scholars and students, we are also keen to hear and learn from first hand accounts of current candidates and past graduates of the five year B.A., LL.B. programme in India.
Since this symposium is a tentative first step towards a cross-institutional platform for dialogue, they encourage only those who would be able to devote time and meaningfully engage with their peers throughout the sessions to apply.
